about
In 2021 leading UK charities were able to identify over 200,000 people experiencing the worst forms of homelessness – this includes sleeping rough on our streets, sleeping in vans and sheds.
Monetary projects are essential in supporting those most vulnerable... especially during this season of often unforgiving weather.
We can't all contribute financially... but what we can do is identify these people and demonstrate genuine empathy.
Recognition of their existence in our world... no avoiding eye contact, no more blanking out their words.
With the help Dee Dowling (Ginger Music Company) and Wilf Visenga (Ghost Guitar Pickups) I wrote and recorded a song with the hope that I could inspire some people to reconnect and empathise with these people who are caught in this cruel cycle.
It might inspire you to support one of the many charities that can help. It might inspire you to use your creative skills to raise awareness, or it might inspire you to smile and say hello to someone homeless, even offering to buy a hot drink.
We can all Show a little love and give a little hope.

lyrics
I don't feel much love today
The world has got it in for me
I'm treated like a pest
By the standards of the west
I lost my job at 24
And then my home at 26
Came back strong, but not strong enough
Now I'm forced to beg, forced to speak rough
It's a cold night in the city
The wind, it starts to bite
The cold damp pavement is my mattress for the night.
Hold out a hand to hold...
But I don't feel much love today...
The clubbers are out tonight
Disgusted by my site
They kick me where I sleep
And spit up on my sheets
The don't want to understand
They don't want to help me out
They don't care about my life
It's all my fault; I lost the fight
It's a cold night in the city
The wind, it starts to bite
The cold damp pavement is my mattress for the night.
Hold out a hand to hold...
But I don't feel much love today...
(Yeah)
God I am so cold...
I can hardly breathe...
I can't feel my hands...
I can't feel my feet...
Maybe I'll just sleep...
Show a little love to someone
Give a little hope to someone
